6. Do not disrespect moderators. Be respectful in both the forums and any private communications with moderators. Moderators are volunteers that donate many, many hours of their own time to help in the forums and chat rooms. Violations of this rule will not be tolerated.
7. No irrelevant or off-topic posts. Posts which are not relevant to the forum topic may be deleted at the moderator's discretion.
8. Use good judgement. NEVER rely on information or opinions exchanged via the forums or chat rooms to replace proven documentations
Forums - Virus scan 11.0 Hot Fix

(26 posts so far) | | McAfee VirusScan 11.0 has released a hot fix patch that addresses following issues related to recent upgrade:
1. Unable to send or receive e-mails. (With and Without attachments)
2. Unable to send e-mails. Receiving e-mail works.
3. Takes a long time to check if new e-mails are available.
4. E-mail Proxy (emproxy.exe) is continuously using 100% of the CPU and Redirector/EmProxy service has to be disabled for the CPU usage to come down.
5. Resolves Outlook 0x800xxxxx errors when sending/receiving e-mails.
Follow these steps to install McAfee VirusScan 11.0 hot fix:
(Make sure you are logged in with Administrator privileges on your computer.)
1. Click on the link below and save the file to c:\McAfee folder
http://download.mcafee.com/molbin/virusscan/support/Eml0814_1.exe
2. Open Windows Explorer and run Eml0814_1.exe from c:\McAfee folder.
3. After the program runs, please confirm that following files are replaced correctly.
C:\Program Files\McAfee\VirusScan\mcvsshld.exe – New file version is 11.0.205.1
C:\Program Files\McAfee\VirusScan\EscnPlug.dll – New file version is 11.0.284.0
C:\Program Files\Common Files\McAfee\EmProxy\emproxy.exe - New file version is 11.0.170.4
4. Restart the computer.
To verify the file version:
1. Open windows explorer and browse to the folder.
2. Right click on the file name, select “Properties” to open file “Properties” dialog.
3. In the file “Properties” dialog, select the “Version” tab and verify the file version.

After applying this patch if sending e-mails does not work, please make sure that your e-mail program is not blocked by WormStopper. To confirm your email program is trusted by WormStopper:
1. Open SecurityCenter (Double click on M icon)
2. Go to "Advanced Menu"
3. Select "Configure"
4. Select “E-mail & IM”
5. On right hand side, expand “E-mail and IM” and click on Advanced.
6. In the Advanced “E-mail & IM” window; selected “Trusted list” on left hand side and make sure e-mail program is trusted.
7. If your e-mail program is not trusted, please trust the program and then click on Apply button.
